Create order out of chaos and bring light into the darkness.
A creator hovered over the dark abyss and with a simple thought they brought light into the darkness. This is my inspiration as an artist. My art is a tribute to the spirit of creation. Creating light in the darkness by erasing into the dark abyss of the charcoal powder. Manipulating tiny specs of dust into something beautiful and full of mystery. I strive to make all of my pieces a mysterious riddle inspired by the wisdom, knowledge, and symbolism of humans throughout history.
A simple fisher of pearls in a deep endless sea.
My method starts with covering the entire paper in a thick dark layer of charcoal powder and then erasing my desired image into it. By using only charcoal, erasers, brushes, and blending stumps, I enjoy the challenge of limiting my resources while applying the reductive drawing technique to the extreme.
